About KaiAmea

Kay Challenor was born in the UK in 1970. Following her degree she began to explore the field of complementary medicine and "energy work" relating to quantum and meta-physics.

KaiAmea was founded by Kay Challenor in 1999, essentially to teach self awareness and spirituality to adults. Incorporating ancient knowledge of the human energy field from Eastern, Oriental and Egyptian traditions combined with her own original concepts, the courses and workshops written by Kay Challenor have since been accredited by the British Complementary Medicine Association and KaiAmea is now recognised as an independent school of therapy & spiritual development and KaiAmea Therapy as a professional complementary therapy which is now practised throughout the UK.

However, through her work Kay Challenor became ever more aware of the need for this material to reach children. So many juvenile behaviour problems can be avoided and eased if children are given the opportunity to explore their feelings and the feelings of others. This led to her writing the first in a series of books, "Learning to Live!" which fulfils the criteria of government PSHE and Key Stage specifications on citizenship and human values.

The "Learning To Live" programme introduces basic awareness of the energy centers (otherwise known as Chakras), enabling children to understand and work with their own energies. Learning to understand the energy of emotion and thought is fundamental to spirituality in that it provides an individual with a framework to recognise the effect of thoughts, emotions and actions and develops an ability to process these energies so as not to hurt themselves or others.

Following this programme comes "Dance Of Light" designed for teenagers and young adults and the "Self Empowerment/Inner Peace" programme. Working with energy in this way is not only tremendously empowering, but brings a sense of inner peace and contentment. "Negative" thoughts and emotions are recognised and rebalanced so that they do not become the "bottled" anger and frustration which are not only the root of so much social dysfunction; from "stress" and anxiety, to drug abuse, crime and vandalism, but in addition from a holistic viewpoint, are the cause of ill health and lack of vitality.

As with all the work of Kay Challenor, this material is designed to reach beyond differences in culture, religion and social background, to a universal unity of love and compassion. In her words, "My work is not about religion, it is about humanity. It is time for each individual to be responsible for their thoughts, words and actions and for people to consciously work together for the good of all."

The Universal Energy Of Light.

Every single 'thing' within our cosmos is made of energy. The realm of physics and science seeks to explore this realm of energy, attempting to understand its mystery and so 'progess' the development of mankind. Quite rightly so, these 'fields' are respected as being worthy of academic recognition.

Similarly other 'fields' have this status: philosophy, religion, language are all legitimate subjects with an academic feel and thus considered with regard. Other subjects too, although considered as 'arts' are never the less held in esteem and considered by our established society.

I feel it is time for other 'fields' to become readily accessible and their knowledge, realised as being of equal importance to science in the development of humanity and as such given 'academic' status, particularly when considering this social climate where relationships and human values seem to be suffering a breakdown. In every section of our 'modern' social structure the dis-function is apparent. In the work place increasing numbers are suffering with stress and stress related illnesses, within schools, teachers are finding that the behaviour of the students is increasingly difficult, the disruptive element growing ever more confrontational, within the home increasingly numbers of marriages split and domestic violence increases and amongst almost every social group there is an increase in drugs, alcohol abuse and crime.

Are all these cases isolated? No. There is a general lack of 'something' and yet there is information here, at our very finger tips, that could aid in the strengthening, soothing and rebalancing of every area of our society. Information that could embrace every man, woman and child and recreate what humans are naturally, when in a positive and balanced state, beings of vitality, love and cooperation. This information is here, NOW.

Sadly however many view it with suspicion. Some label it as too esoteric, others as being too 'way out' and having no academic foundation. This I find very frustrating. My mind is drawn to a quote of an old Eastern yogi,

"A man is but a crank with a new idea
Until it catches on."

In this instance I accept then, the label of 'crank'. The information of which I speak has foundations within almost every culture embodied on our planet and has been used to maintain health, vitality and social cooperation throughout our planets history. You would think therefore with the 'modern' gesture towards an integrated society and schooling for our children, that there would be openness towards this information. After all does it not coincide with a move towards embracing and accepting every culture and its beliefs? This information is both exciting and constructive and it forms the bases for my ideas and programmes both for schools and adult education. The emphasis is on self help, not leading to the development of selfishness, but rather to an increased understanding of the self and therefore of the self in relationship with others, in other words, EMPATHY. Interestingly my work appears to be available at the right time; in recent years there has been an increase in the science of the human mind in relationship to human emotions. Not surprisingly the conclusions here are that human beings have not simply an IQ but, perhaps even more importantly, that they have an 'emotional intelligence'. This emotional intelligence can be nurtured, developed and lead to the maturation of a true human being in touch with their own emotions, understanding how to master these emotions and so have a deep understanding and empathy with the other members of their community and mankind as a whole.

I truly feel that this is what is needed to fill the void. Not simply for children, but for every single human being on our planet. It is time for every individual to reach beyond their realm of fear and limitation, to reconnect to their hopes and aspirations and to finally realise the true extent of their potential.
